Since International Auto Center opened for business in August 2011, they have been busy. The technology used in cars is constantly changing and every advancement introduces a new way to diagnosis a problem and make the necessary repairs. International Auto Center’s owner, Tommy Blanton, is up to the challenge. Master Certified since 1990 along with his over 40 years of experience, and a goal to provide “Honest, Competent, and Caring” service, his high return of repeat clientele is no surprise.

A Veteran who hails from Goldsboro, Tommy moved to Topsail with his wife and daughter in 2004. Along with the beach and beauty of the area, the friendly people are what he most appreciates about the community. When not on the clock fixing engines, Tommy enjoys making things go in his spare time, too. Boating and racing are his favorite hobbies. And his greatest personal achievement? “Helping my wife to raise an amazing daughter.”

Tommy saw a need for auto repair that specialized in foreign cars when he set up shop at 896 Hwy 210 Holly Ridge, NC 28445 (if you’re familiar with the area, it’s between the Taco Bell and the McDonald’s). The initial obstacles of getting the zoning, building, and use permits was a grind but Tommy has practice in seeing complications through and this year marks his 9th since International Auto Center helped their first client.

There’s lots to look forward to for International Auto Center. Facilities improvements and capabilities upgrades are coming to the shop so they can expand service to even more Topsail drivers.

Next time there’s a weird sound coming from under the hood, remember two things: 1, that taking your vehicle to an independent shop does not void your warranty, and 2, International Auto Center is just a ways down 210.
