About Leah
Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas into a military family, I have been accustomed to change and diversity since my early years. From a young age, I was outgoing, adventurous, and curious about everything around me. That is also when I developed a love of food. I grew up watching my mom cook and bake constantly, for both us and other people. That eventually led to them opening up a successful soul food restaurant, named after my sister Janelle. Family responsibilities would take us away from the restaurant world, but after that they were always catering for some event and being in the kitchen just became second nature.
The military eventually took us away from the Lone Star state and to the Midwest, but I would head back there for college where I pursued broadcast journalism at Abilene Christian University.
Nowadays, you can find me blogging full time about my new adventures with being a first time coastal resident and also trying all things food in Eastern Carolina. I live with my husband of ten years and our bustling brood of children, ages 10, 8, and 4.
