BFO is a MASSIVE one-stop-shop for everything coastal style decor and furniture. When you walk in, you will literally GASP!!!! From furniture for the indoor and outdoor, to ALL things indoor, it’s like a coastal, indoor flea market.

And they aren’t new to this game. They’ve been on the island for twenty years, outfitting rental homes, inside and out. This new location in Surf City has been their home for 3 years.

They sell everything and most items are kept in stock. They even have:

You can catch him smiling at any time. You can find her two brothers in there as well! They do the delivery and are so accommodating and nice. It’s a very family friendly atmosphere and you’re sure to find something when you visit, as they have a budget for ALL!

If you didn’t know, @hampsteadfarmersmarketnc has arrived and everyone is so excited! It’s a sustainable, producers-only farmers market, open every Thursday.

I had the pleasure of chatting with @artisan_locale about the opening day last week. Her spouse, John Gurganus, is the farm operations manager of @redbeardfarms . It’s one of the many, local farms featured at the market.

The owner is Morgan Milne, you know, the guy with the red beard :) and his wife is Kat.

They have six acres of diversified organic vegetable production and one acre of shiitake mushroom logs!

They’re passion is in sustainable, year round production, establishing pollinator habitats, and utilizing minimal tillage.

They sell at @tidalcreek on Saturday’s and now the HFM on Thursday’s!

They have a Fall and Spring CSA program (weekly box of fresh veggies)! Spring sign up is currently closed, but Fall sign up will begin in August!

They also sell their product to many restaurants, such as Seabird, Pinpoint, and Manna to name a few 🤩!

Some of them, because it’s so hard to hit up every spot, when you only have a few days! Our area is pretty expansive and it’s getting even bigger!!! A few places we hit up:

Thanks to the awesome job they do of putting together a porch parade map, we were able to go to a spot that was only three minutes away!

The Law Office of Jason Vaughn is a business that participated, and their setup was so beautiful!

They have a very nice menu, including a great variety of desserts. I am not a fan of tiramisu, but I actually loved their tiramisu, so make sure that you try it.

I also love the fact that they accept reservations!

The ambiance is really nice and it’s a great place for a double date like we did, a party, or a family gathering. There was actually a lot of families there. The service was prompt and friendly. It also has amazing views!

It features a lot of local art and is several stories tall, with a unique structure.

My all-time fav appetizer is crab dip and they make a Caribbean crab dip and it was absolutely divine.

Topsail Talk Takeaways: the Stuffed flounder was good as were the shrimp and grits! The scallops cooked to perfection!

You guys, they are doing such great work here and you’ve gotta check them out if you haven’t. Our guide interacted so well with the kids, you’re greeted as soon as you come in, they explain to you how the set up works, and you’re off!

From sea creatures to slithery snakes that they’re than happy to take our for you, it’s a wild ride of refreshing fun. Keep your eyes posted for summer camps. From homestyle breakfast, to down home lunch picks, SRG, is a solid spot for some tasty food! The modern farmhouse atmosphere and rustic vibes, make you feel right at home when you enter, as well as the friendly greeting!

I’d been here previously and had one of their delicious omelettes, but this time, i arrived after 11 and tried their lunch menu!

I ended up picking chicken cheesesteaks for me and the hubby. Why? Well, we love them and Nikki nodded her head in agreement at the idea, so i went for it. It was delicious! It really was packed full of flavor and made exactly the way I’m used to: heavy on the Mayo, onions, peppers, and cheese, and meat! Nothing else! That’s how you do a cheesesteak in my book!

Did you know it ALSO has a FOOD TRUCK?! @southernrootsfoodtruck Check out Nicky telling me all about it, and sharing her menu fav! She is such a sweet soul.

I got a BONUS surprise because I got to see RIANA again from @coralcottageboutiques ! if you watched the FF on that, you know she showed me around the adorable boutique, that’s become one of my local favs.

So, check out the video, where Sophie shows me how they hand make and mix up over 200 different flavors of decadent treats! She’s been working there a couple years and was trained by the fudge maker. My FAV ended up being the SKOR fudge, which mixes chocolate and toffee!

I ended up finding so much quality decor, that was actually intended for FALL, but because of the color, I’m able to use it for around and summer. I scored those TEAL colored pumpkins, with turtle 🐢 and sea horse embellishments, along with “give thanks” coastal and greenery posts. I’ve sprinkled them throughout my house, along with the coastal garland on my fireplace, and it’s been a bright, new addition to the house!

Upon entering, you immediately feel like you’re being hugged by the atmosphere because it’s so warm, quaint, and welcoming. I was immediately welcomed by Claire, who showed me around the store, and made me a delicious latte. Yes, they have a COFFEE BAR.

Claire was so kind and told me about how far the store had come, including the wonderful events you can enjoy at the adorable fixture, such as: live music, food trucks on Monday’s, and their wine bar, implemented in 2012. Clothing and jewelry was added after that.

Open since ‘95 and in its 28th season, it started as a small bookstore with a coffee bar across the street from where is it now.

Do you have kids?! It’s absolutely family-friendly! They will LOVE the dedicated space to children’s books and toys 🧸, all surrounded by a LIFE-SIZED Mother Goose!

They even have an annual author luncheon! They just wrapped one up, where they had six authors. It was held in Hampstead, so be on the lookout for it next year!

This week I had the pleasure of hanging out with owner Richard, who took me on a jaw dropping tour of their facilities. It starts with ample parking under the building, that’s complete with a play area and FREE bike rentals! Your key to cruising the island is ONE QR scan away!

Everything, including maintenance is handle with the QR scanning system. Concerned about safety? They just installed a new security system. They’re also equipped with a generator, cable, and internet.
Everything is managed offline.

🎦 Watch as Richard shows me these beautiful, well maintained rooms THAT COME WITH A WASHER & DRYER! How convenient, right?! You’ll save so much time and be able to spend your visit on the beach!

Grabbing local bites to eat are a few steps away but if you want to make something yourself it’s no issue. Why?! Each room is equipped with a kitchen!!!

You’ve gotta check out @saltwatertopsail and have your friends and family come here when they visit. They get to have amazing views , luxuries, + all the amenities they would have/need in a home!

They have taken great measures to make things as seamless as possible and their positive reviews reflect that.

It’s a unique spot, slightly hidden, that sits off highway 🛣️ 17, behind the DMV on the corner across from Food Lion! Put it in your GPS or you might miss it!

They’ve got smoothies, frappes, baked goods, and MORE. It’s a grab n go spot that has AMPLE seating, and cute merch too!

They’ve got SO much indoor and outdoor space, it’s a great place to go for work, studying, or hanging with friends.

It’s family ran, veteran owned and operated, and the folks are friendly!

I got the salted caramel frap and my daughter had the peach smoothie! We enjoyed both! I also had a cheese danish, which is my FAV #pastry! It was delicious!

Give them a try next time you’re in H-TOWN 😉!!
