As soon as I stepped into Rachel’s house a month ago, I could feel she was in good hands. Her entire living room was filled with items she was getting rid of, and she told me I could take anything I needed. To whom did I owe this generosity to? Marcy Jaenike, owner of High Tide Organizing and resident of Hampstead. She moved here from Michigan about 15 years ago with her husband and two kids. They started out in Wilmington but moved to Hampstead just over two years ago, due to the schools having a great reputation. She says it’s just close enough to Target and Costco and doesn’t feel congested.

Yes, In a Pandemic You Can Still Start A Business
Since the beginning of this mind-boggling pandemic we’ve had to endure, we’ve continued to bring you new business spotlights. Why? Because it’s still possible to plant and grow. Marcy is no different. She was back home in Michigan when her twin sister asked her to help redo her guest bedroom. Out of nowhere she was having her purge her closet and linen closet. “I talked her into organizing her closets and she said you have always been good at this and I don’t know anyone who enjoys it as much as you! You should do this as a business and get paid for what you love to do!” She was right. Marcy loves to help others and genuinely enjoys organizing and cleaning. Not only will she redo a room or closet just for fun, she’s always done it for family and friends.
It was evident when I witnessed Marcy helping my other half of the blog, Rachel, in her home that day. She expertly organized her pantry, kitchen, and home office…with a smile on her face. She stopped to meet me and I had an amazing time getting to know her, but she never stopped working and darting around to see what needed to be done. I could tell she loved what she did and it was not a chore.
She services the surrounding Topsail areas and has been open since July of 2021.

Hurdles for High Tide ORGANIZING
She says the biggest obstacle is people asking for help because they are so overwhelmed by their stuff they do not even know where to start or how to ask. It’s hard for them to take the first step, but her desire is to relieve stress and chaos from our homes.
“Clients see a mess and I see excitement!”
Marcy Janike, owner of High Tide Organizing
Another challenge? Having people purge items they don’t use or need. She shares, there is an attachment to things and people do not know when to let items go they do not use anymore. Do you feel triggered? Yes. So do I. But, Marcy wants us to know that this is her passion and she’s here to help: “I do not judge anyone’s disorganization. I look at all of it as a challenge I am excited to tackle.”

What’s the Next Wave for High Tide?
Marcy aspires to have a team that enjoys organizing as much as she does. She will be offering organization services to companies, to assist in their supply rooms and offices, etc. Cleaning services are now being offered as well! She is beyond excited for 2022!
“Ever since I went to college there was always this lingering question of what am I supposed to be doing. Several years after college and having a family I have realized THIS IS IT. I get the best of both worlds. I get to help others and run a business! I am showing my kids that dreams do come true!”
