We missed it. 

We were rushing. 

Why? Take your pick… Late to a meeting, stopping for coffee, held up because of an accident.  Our over crammed schedules with too many commitments because we’re afraid of being left out. Or because we don’t dare miss an opportunity to make another dollar. 

Then we spend our few free minutes scrolling through the highlight reel of our friends and colleagues, making silent judgments, criticizing and being jealous, then angry at the keyboard warriors who have nothing better to do than be mean.  In the hustle and the bustle and struggle to not care about keeping up with the Joneses, we missed it. 

The beauty of these people.  The beauty of this community.  It’s still there.  You just have to look a little closer to see it.  You have to pause.  

Those people who own your favorite lunch stop?  They have a story and a family and a dream.  That free Christmas light display your kids look forward to each year?  They are just local people with generous souls and cheerful hearts, no profit gained.  That vet who saved your dog, shares a cat with his neighbor!  These people – and all the people – are the ones who make our area so special and we want you to meet them.  

There’s more to it.  We want you to know what’s going on in your community – the festivals, the parades, the special events.
