The Ferry Life – It’s a Wonderful Life Indeed!
As anyone who has ever seen Christmas classic with Jimmy Stewart as George Bailey knows, that our life journey while intertwined with trials and tribulations is indeed something special and to be treasured.
As anyone who has lived her in “The Ferry” knows that we are fortunate to live in Paradise (hurricanes excepted). And there is always something to do here if you know where to look.
Longtime Sneads Ferry residents, Ray and Carol Evans, have proudly announced the 2nd Annual “A Merry Ferry Christmas” will take place on Friday, November 22nd, 2019 (Please note: this event was postponed due to weather November 16th, 2019) from 6-8pm. Location: The Field next to 1004 Hwy 210, Sneads Ferry, North Carolina (next to Subway). Map
Please join us for the 2nd Annual “A Merry Ferry Christmas”
We will all gather together to place the Christmas Tree! Save the date for November 22nd at 6pm. The location is in the field next to the Subway restaurant. Come and start the Christmas season with some friendly fellowship and to wish your neighbors and community a very Merry Christmas!
We will have prayer, caroling/singing, dancers from Mindy’s Dance Attack, Santa and Mrs Claus, and the Salty Sistas food truck.
This year’s Emcee will be Susan Duncan of Ocean Life Realty.

From the 2018 1st Annual “A Merry Ferry Christmas”:
“We will be placing the first ever Christmas Tree near 4 corners an having a lighting ceremony, singing carols, and just celebrating the season and the wonderful town we live in. Save the date of November 22nd at 6pm to come share with us. More details to follow. Please share and check for more details. Open to suggestions that will help make this a night to remember. Please message us on Facebook “ Fun things to do in Snead’s Ferry”
You may recognize the Evans’ from organizing Cartacula [the Halloween Golf Cart Parade held each year – unfortunately canceled in 2018 due to Hurricane Florence] or their decade-long Christmas Light display at their home on Sail Way where Santa & Mrs Clause have been known to visit every night for the couple weeks leading up to Christmas Eve. You can see Santa’s schedule on their Facebook page.
According to Carol, Ray has always had a vision of a town Christmas Tree for Sneads Ferry, and it is finally coming true! They love Christmas, and the idea of their little shrimping village finally having a tree. The tree will be made out of shrimp nets, courtesy of Mr. David Revell of Snead’s Ferry.
A Merry Ferry Christmas is a community event, and they can always use quite a bit of help!
